This year, Joost van Dongen is again listed as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate (Web of Science)

The list of Highly Cited Researchers includes those whose work is among the one percent of most cited publications in their field. In science, the number of citations indicate the significance of publications and is also seen as an indicator of the quality of the work. The more frequently a paper is cited, the higher is its visibility as well as worldwide recognition of the author.

In 2013, Joost van Dongen moved from the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Plant Physiology in Potsdam to RWTH Aachen University and is now heading the research group Molecular Ecology of the Rhizosphere.
